We provide temporary rent, food, and utility subsidies to hard-working families who have been unexpectedly displaced by abuse, layoffs, or illness. We help families to stay in their homes and prevent the devastation of losing a home, belongings, and connection to their community through homelessness. Many Americans are only a few paychecks away from homelessness. We know it is a much better use of resources to help families and children stay in their home when they have experienced a temporary set back.
We have been providing support services to the Southern Nevada community since 1991.
HopeLink, formerly know as Henderson Allied Community Advocates (HACA), was awarded 501(c)3 status in 1994. HopeLink is the DBA (doing business as) for HACA.
The FRC designation means Family Resource Center and was awarded to HopeLink in 1997. This designation is awarded by the State of Nevada and encompasses services which provide citizens a reference point of where to go when they need resource information. There are five FRCs in Southern Nevada and are divided by zip codes boundaries.
We receive approximately 80% of our annual budget through grants. Those grants are awarded to HopeLink through publicly and privately held foundations, as well as by government entities such as the City of Henderson, Clark County, State of Nevada, and federal government agencies. Donations comprise the remaining 20% of our budget.
We work hard to maintain an administrative expense of less than 15%.
HopeLink is listed on Network for Good, Guidestar, and meets all standards of the BBB Wise Giving Alliance Standards for Charity Accountability. In addition, you can connect to our Form 990 through www.Guidestar.org. A non-profits’ 990 form is an IRS document which provides an overview of the 501(c)3’s financial information.
You may contribute financial support for children, families, individuals, or seniors. You may donate gently used clothing or household items at our offices. Or you may volunteer your time periodically or routinely.
Our corporate supporters are listed on our partners page. We are proud to have 100% of our board of directors financially contributing to the agency.
