  • HopeLink

On June 9th, Windermere Prestige Properties and Windermere Anthem Hills owners, Di Redman and Robin Yates, presented HopeLink's Executive Director with a check for $25,000.00.  This check is the 2009 endowment for Widermere’s charitable foundation.  The entire foundation endowment is made up of donations from every Windermere agent in the Las Vegas Valley.  For each sale, every agent donates a fee to the charitable endowment fund which is then donated to a deserving non-profit every year.  HopeLink was chosen as this year’s recipient because HopeLink reflects Windermere’s belief that homelessness prevention is best begun at the community level.  Windermere representatives noted that over the past year, HopeLink has provided rental and utility assistance services to over 1500 families in our own Las Vegas Valley, working with Child Protective Services to keep children out of the child welfare bureaucracy and promoting education and literacy!

Honored guests at the presentation were Sandy Durgin, Representative for Senator Harry Reid, and Henderson Councilwoman Geri Schroeder.

  • In 2006, the Nevada Community Foundation selected HopeLink as the Outstanding Charity of the Year. This award is presented annually to one charity based on its stewardship of donors' dollars and its effectiveness in addressing Southern Nevada’s needs. Administrative and fundraising costs account for less than fifteen percent of the Agency’s annual budget. This means that $.85 of every dollar goes directly to support programs and services.

  • HopeLinkDuring the Nevada Women's Philanthropy 2007 funding cycle, HopeLink was one of the five finalists to be considered for a grant of $225,000 by the local group. This is a rigorous and detailed process for the more than 80 charities who apply for consideration.

  • After a three year planning, developing, and funding period, HopeLink moved to a new building in the heart of the most at-risk neighborhood of Henderson. The beautiful new facility encompasses the Ritter Charitable Trust Neighborhood Conference Center which is open to all area groups in need of a meeting or gathering space. The building was named the Harry Reid Center for Children and Families after one of Southern Nevada’s strongest advocates for children and families. Senator Reid was responsible for securing a partial grant which helped provide this neighborhood service center. In collaboration with the City of Henderson and the Henderson Presbyterian Church, HopeLink was able to secure a long-term home in the most in-need area of Henderson.

  • Are you aware of the outstanding services to the community provided by HopeLink through your generous donations of time and money?  Our Mayor and City Council are!  On March 3, 2009, HopeLink received a commendation from the office of Mayor James B. Gibson and the city council of Henderson during their regular city council meeting.  HopeLink's Executive Director was presented with an official commendation for HopeLink’s “outstanding services and programs since 1991, helping prevent homelessness, keeping families intact, promoting self-sufficiency, recruiting and organizing community volunteers for the homeless census, and distributing school supplies, backpacks, clothing, and books to school children”.  HopeLink has proudly partnered with the City of Henderson for our entire 18 year history.
